This stretch is one of my favorites. It requires no equipment and can be done anywhere. It stretches the shoulders and has its greatest effects on the anterior musculature in this region – the pecs! You can add a neck stretch component to this by tipping your head away from the side you’re stretching.
This can have an effect on numbness by loosening the Pec – this muscle notoriously traps nerves that go to your hand, causing numbness.
This stretch is great for people who sit a lot for work, people with long commutes, and those who spend a little too much time on their phones.
I recommend holding this stretch anywhere between 30 seconds and 2 minutes, and doing it twice a day.
