The Science of Happiness

On my way home from work I was listening to a podcast and I thought the message was important so I wanted to share it with all of you.

Today, the message was on happiness.
They talked about the science of happiness and how it’s
A sense of accomplishing your goals + genuinely feeling as though you are joyful or happy.

They mentioned you can either lower your standards and goals and be happy or accept what is while working toward your goals. Basically, embrace the little things while you reach toward the big things.

Apparently, if we don’t put in the effort, our minds tend toward replaying the negative things for the day and they’re pretty easy to get lost in or to allow to outplay the amazing things. So, the last question on the podcast was “how do we prevent that negativity and how can we be happier in our daily lives?”

The answer was so simple! The psychologist being interviewed said that while there are a lot of studies on happiness and ways to increase it-the easiest way to be happy in our daily lives is to just pick 3 things you are grateful for.

Feel free to share your 3 or just jot them down, but doing this at the end of each day rewires your brain to think about the day in a positive light.
